I was recently tasked with a rather trivial task of getting an organisations name to result #1 on the big 3 - Google, MSN, and Yahoo. Naturally I said it would take a max of about a month. Now 3 days later I see it is complete, and I have a happy customer.

This, as you may have guessed, is the other side of SEO. Off site, paid, optimisation. The reason I%u2019m posting though is that firstly, many people willing to pay for this may not know of the possibilities, and secondly I have certainly found the most effective way. Thirdly I%u2019d like to mention this is NOT a %u201Cblack hat%u201D techinique. You will not get banned for this, and you will not be frowned upon.

To achieve this in 3 days I contacted Text-Link-Ads and had a response the same day. I was very direct with what I was looking for - non-themed, low cost, high volume, low PR links. E.g. I didn%u2019t want 2 PR7 links, I wanted 15 PR3-5 links. This cost 150$ and the link went up immediately on >10 sites. Two days later (I assure you) the keyword moved from position #36 to position #1.

So, to summarise. If you are looking for a quick move and willing to pay relatively little - this is what you need. Go to a text-link brokerage site, buy yourself a lot of lower PR text links all saying the keyword and all pointing to the most important page for that keyword, make sure you have themed content on that page using the word often. Make sure you don%u2019t pay more than 150$ for this unless the keyword is RIDICULOUS, and make sure you get at least 8 sites for your money.

And there you go - I am living proof this works (and have nothing to do with the text-link sites).

p.s. This took 3 days to get to about 75% of the Google servers, but will vary based on timing. However, in order to see results the fastest make use of the google cache tool I posted about previously; use the server with the freshest content as it can take a week to spread across the google multiverse!
