Beware domain registration scammers
An international criminal group is targeting South African businesses. RSAWeb has fielded many queries from people wanting to know the status of their domain names and if they should be buying their domain from this company.
The modus operandi is to say “We have someone else that wants to buy your domain, if you register it now for 750 pounds we can help you register it before the other company”
Network Solutions, a website providing information about domain names and web hosting, states that internationaldomainsolutions.com is blocked.
This scam preys on the fact that the general public isn”t clued up about domain registration.
The best response is to ignore these threats and if you can garner enough information, pass it on to the .za Domain Name Authority (http://www.zadna.org.za/)
If you are worried about the domains, you can register them for a nominal fee (a fraction of what the scammers charge) through the RSAWeb website - domain registration
