BA Screws Up!
Cebit here we come, well almost…
The Cebit crew has just gone through a night of hell, and we are still sitting in Cape Town international airport. Our plane never took off last night, and i am writing this while listening to yet another delay anouncement over the PA system. I took a few pictures to tell our story.
Here we are amped and ready to board the BA flight from CT to London, Adrian messing around while in the boarding line.
21:00 - Adrian and Me getting ready for the long flight ahead.
We then sat on the plane for 2 more hours, before being told we would have to get off and sleep the night. Aparently the plane had a “technical difficulty”.
23:00 - Nobody was impressed that we had to get off the plane, go through customs and collect our bags. BA also were not able to find accomodation for everyone and they could not tell us when we would take off the next day… Great, there goes Cebit day 1 and all our meetings on Friday too. This would obviously mean we missed our connecting London-Hanover flight, so it looks like we are spending a night at Heathrow(deathrow) and only flying to Hanover on Friday!
Anyway we managed to hook a room in the Holiday Inn V&A, after mutch bitching with Airport staff, and at 1am we finally got into our room. Ash went straight to the room service menu, this travelling makes you hungry!
The view from our hotel, look on the bright side!
Our Plane - I think I found the problem: check out the whole on the roof (looks like the pilot left the sun roof open)
Looks like BA not the only ones having problems - this is the flight board at Cape Town international. Seeing this made my day, seems there is a use for old 300mhz machines!
